STRONG BODY. STRONG MIND.
(and maybe a color-coded to-do list for good measure)
My whole life, I’ve struggled to color inside the lines. Not because I’m trying to cause trouble—I’m just wired a little differently. I don’t follow the straight and narrow path. I veer off into the woods…because honestly, that’s where the magic is! ✨
In March, I stepped into a new role. A challenging one. It’s never existed before, so naturally, I felt pressure—not just to succeed, but to make sure my managers didn’t regret their decision to give me the shot. And my team? Top of their game. So, of course, I worried about slowing them down. 🤔 (“Please don’t let me be the human backpack in this expedition.”)
Note to self: over-analyzing is not a cardio workout—it just feels like one.
Stop. It.
For the first time in my career, I doubted my abilities. I second-guessed myself. (“Maybe I should go color-code my to-do list just to feel in control again.“) Don’t judge. It works.

But here’s the thing. That discomfort? That feeling of “what am I even doing?”—that’s GROWTH. Getting out of your comfort zone feels like a snail on the beach that just lost its shell. You’re exposed. Uncertain. Every process feels foreign. Your confident stride turns into a cautious tiptoe.
But guess what? That awkward, exposed, snail-on-a-beach phase only lasted two weeks. Then I made two powerful shifts:
💪 1. Strong Body. Healthy Mind.
I created a new workout plan—because when I feel strong in my body, I think clearer. I lead better. I show up with energy. Exercise is my meditation, my reset button, my coffee before coffee. It sharpens my mind and grounds my spirit. Science agrees—the chemical processes that light up your brain during and after exercise….it is the catalyst for peak performance. Period.
📣 2. Be Your Own Cheerleader
Remember your wins. I started journaling. Not just “dear diary” entries, but actual evidence of what I was learning and conquering each day. I even made a reverse mind map (because linear doesn’t always work.) On one side: wins. On the other: stuff I was still figuring out. Both are equally valuable. Because every lesson is a blessing!
And let’s not forget—you’ve done hard things before. You’ve climbed mountains, dodged corporate nonsense, and still showed up. You always do. So tune out the naysayers—no negative energy allowed on this journey.
So if you’re starting a new role, switching careers, or feeling like your current job is as exciting as watching paint dry…..
🎯 Take. It. Off.
Take off the “shoulds,” the self-doubt, and yes—even that metaphorical snail shell—and expose yourself to new ideas. New energy. New adventures.
Because let’s be honest—if you’re going to spend 40+ hours a week somewhere, shouldn’t it at least feel like you’re alive while doing it?
